As part of my residency on The Packington Housing Estate I led a series of workshops where we dug clay from the estate, processed it, made sculptures and pit fired them. The clay was formed 50 million years ago when London was 100m below a tropical sea and I was interested to use the clay as a conduit back to that landscape - imaging the steamy flora and reptilian animals.
